Richardson will be the focal point of the workouts as he makes his way back from shoulder surgery. He in the first week of OTAs, and it isn't likely he will have any moving forward.The electric quarterback has a lot to prove coming off a season that ended after just four starts. Building a foundation for training camp will be vital during the spring workouts, especially when it comes to working with some new faces.CB Dallis FlowersThe Colts have a pretty wide-open competition at cornerback. It's expected that one of the starting spots on the boundary will go to JuJu Brents while the other spot will feature a competition between Flowers, Jaylon Jones and Darrell Baker Jr.Flowers participated in the first week of OTAs, coming off a torn Achilles that ended his Baron Davis Jersey season after just one month of games. He showed a lot of promise in that role, and it will be interesting to see if we get an update on the cornerback competition.WR Adonai MitchellThe rookie wideout has gotten plenty of hype since the Colts selected him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He still has to work his way up the depth chart competing with Alec Pierce for the starting X role.Mitchell is expected to carve out a pretty strong role for himself during his rookie season, and he can lay the foundation for that throughout OTAs.LB Jaylon CarliesAnother rookie, Carlies has a chance to take advantage of a thin linebacker depth chart for the No. 3 role behind starters Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed. Carlie some impre sive athleticism during the first week of OTAs, and he can continue building off that.The No. 3 linebacker role isn't a ma sive one considering how often the Colts are in nickel packages, but there's a wide-open competition for the role.QB Kedon SlovisThis is really just to highlight the competition at quarterback for the No. 3 role behind Richardson and Joe Flacco. Not much has been said about that competition, but we could get more information on how it's shaping up.OTAs offer limited reps so we may not get a full update until minicamp, but Slovis and Sam Ehlinger will likely battle it out for the QB3 spot over the next few months.
